Future of dining
Today, activities are not bound to certain rooms, meaning that new routines, as with eating, won’t find apt spaces. While the individual is promised less space than before, the quality of everyday life is expected to be just as good, if not better. This creates a fascinating challenge – one we’ve greatly enjoyed working on.
To understand future of dining in detail we observed our poses and behaviors while eating, realizing that they many times were quite awkward. One often adapts and adjusts the body as it fits.
KILEN
KILEN works on its own and with other pieces like it. Together, it can create different geometric patterns to enforce the playfulness and randomness of sitting. KILEN is scaled to fit the body and its many positions: as a simple seat, backrest or a table while sitting on the floor.
